31 Days Of I Love Myself Enough : Day 6

DAY SIX: I LOVE MYSELF ENOUGH TO ASK FOR HELP
I can see myself now……struggling….tears rolling down my face…..begging for everything to stop…..to get better……
Telling myself ‘ I can’t do this anymore’……..’ I can’t take this anymore’……..hoping and praying for someone to come along and rescue me……
Nobody came…….
I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown…….and I read Louise Hay’s book ‘ The Power is Within You.’
Louise spoke about asking for help…..asking for support…..I did……and I received help and support from people who were only too glad to offer it.
When I speak to clients or run workshops and I ask people why they don’t ask for help, they give me the same reasons I gave myself:
I don’t want to be a burden
They’re too busy
I feel ashamed that I can’t cope/manage
Asking for help and support is a weakness
I’ve made my bed now I must lie in it
When I then ask how it feels if someone else asks them for help and support they said it made them feel:
Valued
Good about themselves because someone had reached out to them
A good and caring friend
Caring and helpful
Only too glad to have been able to help
It’s interesting when you look at this isn’t it?
People are usually only too glad to help and it makes them feel valued and good about themselves so why don’t we give them the opportunity? The reasons have been stated above……these beliefs run deep within our programming.
If I need help or support now I ask for it. And usually receive it.
HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me. I am incredibly grateful to you.
Today I invite you to reflect…..
Are you someone who can ask for help and support or do you suffer in silence? And how long are you prepared to do that?
You probably have people in your life who are willing to help you….give them the chance.
Sending you all so much love from my heart to yours. 💜
