Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in America every year on the fourth Thursday in November.
In 2020, it’s taking place on Thursday 26 November.

Many people use it as a day to reflect on the positive things in life and spend time with their families.
Nearly everyone gets one or two days off school or work, and it marks the beginning of the Christmas holiday season.

As this is the month of Thanksgiving I thought I would give us all the opportunity to have our own Thanksgiving day.

My sister lives in America and has done for almost 20 years. She shared with me that Thanksgiving day is huge and for some Americans it’s even more important than Christmas Day.

My sister told me that families do whatever they can to be together for Thanksgiving day and they each bring food for a huge family feast, then one by one they go around the table and state what they are grateful for.

I love this!!

Obviously, like everything else this year, the celebrations will be somewhat different yet the day will be celebrated just the same.

The day is all about giving thanks. It’s a day of gratitude.

When there is so much else going on in the world we can sometimes lose sight of our blessings and what we truly have to be grateful for.

My invitation to you is for you to have your own gratitude ceremony.
Maybe light a candle or two, light some incense, play some soft music, and state out loud EVERYTHING you are grateful for.

You could do this alone or with the people you live with.
You could create any kind of gratitude ceremony you wish.

It is so important to give thanks.

And remember the Universe loves grateful people and will always give you more to be grateful for.

Whatever you decide to do have a wonderful Thanksgiving ceremony!!

Here’s a short Thanksgiving/Gratitude meditation:

Until next time, sending you all so much love from my heart to yours.
