Remembering Louise Hay

I could not let this day pass by without acknowledging the legacy we all know and love; Louise Hay.
Today, October 8th, Louise Hay would have been 95 years old.
Millions of people around the world say that Louise saved their lives.
She most certainly helped me to save mine.
On the verge of a nervous breakdown, a marriage of 18 years collapsing and a divorce, becoming a single parent to two sons aged 15 and 12, being a manager for a charity and being physically attacked by a member of staff and an internal investigation, not looking after myself or taking care of my own health and well -being; no wonder I was on the verge of a breakdown.
Reading Louise’s book, ‘ The Power is Within You’ I cried. There was another way!! The relief was immense to say the least.
Louise’s philosophy is very simple; ‘ It’s only a thought and a thought can be changed.’
I had been scaring myself with my own thoughts; expecting the worse, what If I can’t cope? What if I lose my job and get evicted? What will happen to me and my sons then? What if I don’t get another job? How will I afford to go on holiday with my sons like we have done every year? What if, what if, what if!!!
I had created the worse possible case scenario in my head with my thoughts!! And the thing is your thoughts create your feelings which then create your actions/behaviour. No wonder I was cracking up!!
I saw the world as being AGAINST me, everyone was AGAINST me, I was all alone in this big bad world. Poor me…….blah, blah, blah….victim, victim, victim.
Then I began to apply Louise’s philosophies and began to learn to love myself. What?!!! What was all that about? Nobody had ever mentioned this before!!
My life began to change beyond recognition.
- I learned to stop criticising myself and tell myself I was doing the best I could.
- I learned how to be kind and gentle with MYSELF.
- I learned how to forgive.
- I learned how to praise myself.
- I learned to stop scaring myself with my thoughts and to change them to better thinking thoughts that uplifted and supported me.
- I learned to be patient with myself.
- I learned to be kind to my mind and loving to my negatives.
- I learned to support myself by asking for help and support.
- I learned to take care of my body, mind and soul.
- I learned how to look at myself in the mirror without judging myself or criticising myself and learned instead to say, ‘ I love you Lynn’.
- I learned how to have fun and how to embrace and love my Inner child.
And the results were phenomenal.
So much so that I trained to be a Heal Your Life Teacher and Coach to go and share the work of Louise Hay with thousands of other people around the world.
So, as you can see, I have a LOT to thank Louise Hay for.
God Bless you Louise.
May your teachings go on forever and help to change the lives of millions more people around the world.
The planet needs your work now more than ever.
Sending you all so much love from my heart to yours.
Lynn
