Taking Time Off Without the Guilt

Hi beautiful people,
Some of you may be wondering why you didn’t receive a newsletter last week.
There was a time when I would feel so much guilt if I took time off.
That was when I believed that it was my job to make everyone happy and when I was so scared of what other people may think of me!! I was a classic people pleaser!!
Last week, I took a week off!!! And I felt NO guilt!!
My sister and family are over from New Zealand and this may be their last visit to the UK. Of course, I want to spend as much time with them as possible.
Feeling guilty never changes anything, it just makes you feel bad. You have done nothing wrong. You do not need to be punished with your thoughts.
Louise Hay always said that guilt was a complete waste of time and that guilt always sought punishment.
It has been a very special time spending time with my family and witnessing my mum enjoying their visit.
Mum has had to adapt to HUGE changes in her house, from living alone to now living in a house with 5 other adults and a great grandson!!
We all went to Llandudno for mum’s birthday and the weather blessed us with a very sunny day.
We’ve had trips to garden centres, Bury market, Haigh Hall (park) and lots of other things. We have shared lots of laughter and enjoyed creating lots of very special and precious memories to treasure forever.
It will be a very sad time when my sister leaves the UK in a few days time. It’s always so hard to say goodbye and it gets harder every time. Knowing that this could be their last visit will make it even harder.
My invitation to you is to ask yourself if you are feeling guilty about anything…
and if you are…
ask yourself…
What good is this doing me?
How is this making me feel?
Do I want to carry on feeling this way?
How is this making me feel?
Do I want to carry on feeling this way?
Maybe you could forgive yourself for something you may have said or done… maybe you could forgive someone else?Guilt is a very heavy energy to carry. It serves no purpose. Let it go.
