Choosing Love, Joy, and Freedom -Even Now in Difficult Times

Life has a way of bringing us to our knees sometimes; I have found myself on my knees so many times when experiencing several melt downs.
There are moments when the world feels heavy, when challenges pile up, and when the light seems far away. In those moments, it’s easy to shut down, to brace ourselves, to guard our hearts. But this week, I want to gently remind you of something powerful:
Even in the midst of hardship, you can choose love.
Even in sorrow, you can reach for joy.
Even when life feels constricted, you can claim your freedom.
Choosing love doesn’t mean denying your pain. It means allowing compassion to rise within you—first for yourself, and then for others. It means pausing long enough to remember that your heart is vast, and it was made to love, even through tears.
Choosing joy doesn’t mean plastering on a smile when you’re hurting. It means finding the small spark—a kind word, a sliver of beauty, a breath of peace—and letting it grow. Joy is not the absence of pain, but the presence of something deeper and eternal within you.
And choosing freedom? That’s about releasing the belief that your circumstances define you. Freedom lives in the inner choice to say: I am not bound by what is happening around me. I am guided by what is true within me.
So, if today feels hard, my beautiful friends, I invite you to gently return to your heart. Place your hand over it, breathe, and ask: What would love choose right now? What would joy look like here? Where is my freedom in this moment?
You are never alone. You are always loved. And you always have a choice.
