Inspiring Women Awards

What it means to me to make it through to the finals of the ‘Inspiring Women’ awards
From my early years as a child I had a belief that I wasn’t good enough.
I believed that everything I did wasn’t good enough.
I was always told to ‘try harder’. Whilst this may have seemed like words of encouragement from the adults who were giving me this message….my little girl heard it as ‘ Try harder because what you’ve done is not good enough’…which I interpreted as ‘ I wasn’t good enough’.
This child hood belief stayed with me my entire life until I began to change my beliefs after reading
‘ The Power is Within You’ by Louise Hay and then going on to do the Heal Your Life teacher training followed by the coaching training followed by the Managing with Heart and Mind business training.
So when I received an email a few weeks ago telling me I had been nominated for an award for Inspiring Women I wept tears of joy.
And then last week, when I received an email to let me know I was one of the finalists for the Inspiring Women awards I wept tears of joy.
I was so happy.
I was elated.
I was euphoric.
You see, we all still have that little child within us. So when I heard this wonderful news I wept tears of joy for that little girl who spent all her life believing she was not good enough.
This nomination is for her.
For my little girl.
For that little girl who only wanted to do well and get rewarded and praised.
For that little girl who was always seeking the approval of others.
For that little girl who desperately wanted to feel loved.
For that little girl who desperately wanted people to like her.
For that little girl who compromised her own happiness to make others happy.
For that little girl who believed that no-one liked her.
For that little girl who always wanted to get ‘picked’ for the school teams.
For that little girl who desperately wanted to belong.
For that little girl who just wanted people to know she existed.
For that little girl who was beaten up by other girls just because they could.
For that little girl who was terrified.
For that little girl who was afraid.
For that little girl who wanted to be like somebody else.
For that little girl who was always wrong.
For that little girl who wasn’t allowed to have a voice.
For that little girl who cried herself to sleep.
For that little girl who hated being her.
Sweetheart; this nomination is for you.
I love you so much.
You are enough and always were.
So if any of you are reading this and are resonating with this, then please know, that you can change your beliefs about yourself.
Please know that anything is possible.
My life is amazing now since working with the teachings of Louise Hay and creating some new beliefs.
Yours can be too.
You never know…..you might be a nominee next year!!
I feel truly honoured, and truly blessed to be part of this wonderful nomination process and feel very grateful to the person who nominated me (Maura Jackson C.E.O. BYPHS).
Dreams really do come true.
