Always Take the Opportunities Presented To You.
How did a kid who grew up in a 2 up 2 down terraced house in a working class area and coming from a working class family become a published author?
Luck? No. I no longer believe in luck.
This little kid believed life was hard, life was meant to be a struggle. Good things never happen to people ‘like us’.
This kid never believed she ‘would never amount to anything’ because that is what her teachers had told her.
This kid believed she was not good enough. She was not worthy. She was not deserving. She was not loveable.
This kid grew up believing all these things and so she settled for second best. She settled for a life of hardship. She settled for a life of making ends meet. She settled for a life of struggle. She settled for a life of hating herself. She settled for a life of being treated badly. She settled for a life of not speaking up.
I was living my life based on my belief system.
So what changed? How did I become a published author?
I was given a book by my sister called ‘ The Power is Within You’ by Louise Hay. I cried when I read this book. I understood what Louise was saying. I wanted to know more.
I googled to see if there was any training about this message that Louise was giving and discovered that there was!!
In 2011, I went to Birmingham and did a weeks training, ‘ You Can Heal Your Life Teacher Training.’ The course was incredible and taught me so much about myself. This training allowed me to lead workshops based on Louise Hay’s philosophy and fully endorsed by Louise herself.
In 2012, I went to Kenilworth and completed the Heal Your Life Coaching training and in 2018 I went to Ireland to complete the Managing With Heart and Mind training specifically created for the Corporate World.
Since discovering Louise’s work my life has changed phenomenally.
I have changed the beliefs I had about myself and this is work in progress.
I have run countless workshops, coaching sessions, retreats and given hundreds of talks.
So what do I mean when I say take the opportunities given to you?
I now see opportunities and I now know that it is up to us to take them.
I could not see these opportunities before because of my mind set.
How did I become a published author?
I took the opportunity.
I was introduced to the publishers by a friend of mine who I met when I did the Heal Your Life training in 2011. Juliet was assisting on the training.
We have stayed connected and Juliet introduced me to the Quiet Rebel Bureau publishers in 2018.
They asked me if I would be interested in doing a facebook live interview to which I said yes – I said yes to the opportunity.
Due to technology the interview ended up being recorded instead of being live and was on facebook.
I was told that there had been such a wonderful response to the interview that I was invited to be a contributing author to a book the Quiet Rebel Bureau they were writing.
Again I said yes – I said yes to the opportunity.
I am happy to announce that the book has now been published and is now available on Amazon.

Had I not have taken this opportunity I would not be able to say that I am now a published author.

Say yes to yourself because you deserve a life full of love, peace and joy. You deserve to be happy. You have the power to do this. You have the power to make changes. No-one else can do this for you.
