Exam Results…..Pass or Fail?

Hi beautiful people…..it’s that time of year again when students are getting their GCSE results……there will be some very proud parents posting all over social media about how well their son or daughter has done…….celebrations will be taking place……
Yet, what about the students who didn’t do as well? What about the students who did not pass their GCSE’s? What will they be feeling right now? What will their parents’ be feeling right now?
What will they be feeling when they see the posts all over social media?
Will they be feeling like a failure? Will they be feeling worthless? Will they be feeling not good enough? Will they be feeling like they have no future?
The pressure placed on students today is enormous.
How they feel today will affect their future. How do I know this? Because of personal experience.
I left school in 1975 with (what was known then as O’ levels ), one
O ‘ level in English Language.
I did not feel proud. I felt I had let my parents down. I felt like a failure. I felt like I was not good enough. I felt like I was worthless.
All because society believes and tells us that we must do well at school in order to do well in life.
This simply is not true.
Since failing my exams and feeling such a failure I lived my life from that moment on like a failure. I was terrified of failing at anything, so I avoided doing anything that might mean I would fail. I lived my life ‘playing small’. I opted for the ‘safe’ choices rather than do something or apply for jobs where other people would be far better than me.
I lived my life in fear. Fear of failing.
This is a terrible way to live.
I only changed living like this when I discovered the work of Louise Hay and began to use her philosophies. That was only 10 years ago.
Today I do not see myself as a failure. I do not live my life in fear.
I know that I am always doing the best I can; I did that in 1975 and I do it now.
Having only one O’ level has not stopped me from running my own business. It has not stopped me from helping others to change their beliefs about themselves. It has not stopped me from loving my 2 sons or my 2 grandchildren or my family and friends.
I recently celebrated my 60th birthday and I intend to live my life to the full with what I have right now and how I feel right now.
I refuse to play small. I refuse to see anyone as being a failure.
You only have to do your research and find some very successful people who also failed their exams!!
Instead I choose to celebrate all of our students……you are all amazing, you are all worthy, you are all deserving and you are all already successful!!
(If any of you are interested in the work of Louise Hay and how it could help you, I am running a 2 day workshop on the 14th and 15th Sept based on her multi million best selling book, You Can Heal Your Life. All details about this workshop can be found on the Events page).
