I was having a very interesting conversation yesterday which has led me to write this blog.
Wayne Dyer used to say:
‘If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.’
When I read this I thought, ‘This is so simple, yet so true!’
I know people who are always complaining about why everything happens ‘to them’……yet they don’t change anything.
I know people who are always complaining they ‘always get ill’, yet they don’t change anything.
Why? Why would you not want to change something?
Because some people fear change; some people don’t know how to make changes; some people don’t know where to start; some people think things will get better for them yet they insist on doing the same thing over and over so they get the same results over and over.
None of this is rocket science!!
If you don’t know what to do or are unsure of what changes you need to make; ask someone.
Let me give you an example of what I mean:
Earlier this year I had some tests as a precautionary measure as someone in my family has been diagnosed with T.B. (they are being treated for it and they are doing great)!
Included in the tests were blood tests.
When I got my results back I was asked to go to my GP surgery where they told me my blood sugar was slightly higher than it usually was and had moved ever so slightly into the diabetes range. An appointment was made for me to see a Health Practitioner where we discussed my life style, including diet, exercise etc.
I now had choices to make; I could choose to ignore this blood result and risk becoming diabetic or I could make some changes. I chose to make some changes.
My diet was healthy anyway so I focused on the exercise as I was very aware I hadn’t really exercised since getting knocked down by a car just over 12 months ago and I was aware that my weight had increased as a result.
I have now lost weight and am making steady progress with the exercise. And I feel good.
I feel that I have made changes so therefore my results will be different. (I have another blood test in 4 months).
Another example is that this summer I have had bronchitis and also had a colonoscopy in October this year (another precautionary measure as mum had bowel cancer 5 years ago).
I know and feel that my energy and my body don’t feel 100% so I am now drinking Kefir and taking pro-biotics.
In other words I have taken action.
I have done something about it so I see different results.
My invitation to you is this ; if you want to see different results then take action. Do something different.
If you keep having illness after illness then look at what changes you could make in your life style and do it!! Not when you start feeling better; but now. Because if you always do what you’ve always done you will always get what you’ve always got!!
