31 Days Of I Love Myself Enough : Day 1

DAY ONE – I LOVE MYSELF ENOUGH TO ACCEPT MYSELF EXACTLY AS I AM:
This was a tough one for me. And I know it’s always a tough one for many of my coaching clients.
I grew up believing there was something wrong with me. And that everybody else was so much better than me.
I had no self-worth, no confidence, no self-esteem.
I didn’t like looking in the mirror because I didn’t like the person looking back at me. I only saw what I perceived as my faults. This only compounded the belief that there was something wrong with me. And affected my self- worth.
I wanted to look like the girls with blue eyes, long blonde hair, who were tall and tanned and pretty with a great smile.
I felt this way my whole life until I read Louise Hay’s book, ‘ The Power is Within You.’ Louise teaches you to love and accept yourself exactly as you are.
I didn’t believe it at first, why would I when I had spent my whole life believing there was something wrong with me?
It took a while before I began to fully love and accept myself exactly as I am. It took a lot of inner work looking at my old beliefs and where they had come from and asking myself whether I wanted to continue to believe there was something wrong with me or was it possible that I could start to love and accept myself exactly as I was.
And so the inner work began on what I believed about myself. And slowly my beliefs changed.
Today I can absolutely, hand on heart say that I love and accept myself exactly as I am and that feels so good.
I would love to know if this has resonated or what your thoughts are.
HUGE thank you to Louise Hay for teaching me that it is possible to love myself exactly as I am. Without her teachings my life would have been VERY different to the life I live now.
Sending you all so much love from my heart to yours.

P.S. If it is too big of a step to affirm ‘ I love and accept myself exactly as I am.’ Louise advises to put the words i am willing in front of the affirmation…..’ I am willing to love and accept myself exactly as I am.’
