31 Days Of I Love Myself Enough : Day 21

DAY TWENTY-ONE: I LOVE MYSELF ENOUGH TO CELEBRATE HOW FAR I HAVE COME
When I look back at the woman I used to be and compare her to the woman I am today, I feel proud of how far I have come.
And today, I give myself permission to acknowledge that.
It hasn’t always been easy.
I’ve had to find the courage to walk away from people, situations and places that were no longer right for me. I’ve had to dig deep, face uncomfortable truths and make changes that sometimes felt frightening.
But somewhere along the way, I discovered a strength within me that I never knew I had.
From the little girl who didn’t believe in herself, who questioned her worth and didn’t believe she was deserving of good things, I have grown into a woman who knows her worth and understands that she doesn’t have to prove herself to anyone.
And do you know what has touched my heart along the way?
It’s knowing that people have taken time out of their busy lives to nominate me for awards and recognise the difference I make in the lives of other women.
It’s not about the awards or the recognition. It’s about knowing that something I have said, something I have shared or something I have done has made a difference to someone else.
That someone has seen me, seen my work and felt moved enough to put my name forward.
And that means more to me than anything.
Because if you had told that little girl all those years ago that one day she would be standing in her own power, helping other women to believe in themselves, she probably wouldn’t have believed you.
There have been so many tears along the way. Times when I’ve sat sobbing on my living room floor, wondering how I was going to find the strength to keep going.
Times when I’ve had to pick myself up, dust myself down and begin again.
But I did keep going.
I’ve challenged old beliefs, changed how I show up in the world, learned to speak my truth, honoured my own needs and stopped accepting things that I once thought I had to tolerate.
And perhaps one of the most beautiful things is that I haven’t had to leave that little girl behind to become the woman I am today.
I carry her with me.
I see her. I understand her. I nurture her. And I remind her that she was always worthy, always deserving and always enough.
She just didn’t know it back then.
And that is why I am sharing this today.
Because sometimes we get so caught up in where we want to be, what we still want to achieve and how much further we think we need to go that we forget to stop and acknowledge how far we’ve already travelled.
We dismiss our progress. We minimise our achievements. We tell ourselves we should be further ahead by now.
But what if, just for a moment, we stopped doing that?
What if we looked back with compassion for the woman we used to be and gratitude for the woman we are becoming?
What if we celebrated not just the big milestones, but the quiet, courageous moments that nobody else saw?
The boundaries we finally set. The truth we finally spoke. The people we found the courage to walk away from. The moments we chose ourselves when, in the past, we would have put everyone else first.
Those moments count. They matter. And so do we.
Today, I celebrate how far I’ve come. Not because my journey has been perfect, but because I’ve kept showing up, kept learning, kept growing and kept choosing to believe that a different way of living was possible.
And if you’re reading this, I invite you to do the same.
Look at the woman you were five, ten or twenty years ago. Think about what you’ve faced, what you’ve overcome, what you’ve learned and the ways in which you’ve grown.
Please don’t dismiss your journey just because you haven’t reached every goal or arrived at the destination you imagined.
You are allowed to be proud of yourself right now.
You are allowed to celebrate yourself without waiting for someone else to give you permission.
You are allowed to acknowledge just how far you’ve come.
You have come a long way, beautiful soul. Please don’t forget to celebrate that.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION:
I celebrate the woman I was, the woman I am today and the woman I am becoming.
Sending you all so much love from my heart to yours
Lynn
