Who are you Surrounding Yourself With?

I have a question for you this week… Who are you surrounding yourself with?

Have you ever noticed how you feel when you are in a group who are all complaining or gossiping or bitching? Do you join in? Do you sit there quietly wishing you were somewhere else? Did you know you have a choice of who you want to hang out with?

I remember when I used to be in groups where everyone judged everyone else, when people name called whoever wasn’t there at the time, behind their back. I used to think, I wonder what they say about me when I’m not here?

I never felt good. I always felt sad. I always felt as though I had to impress the group so they wouldn’t call me and they would all think I was wonderful!!

Once I started to love myself and change the core beliefs I had about myself, I noticed that I no longer wanted to spend time in these groups. I didn’t feel comfortable. I didn’t like what was going on, so gradually, I removed myself.

I started to see groups where I did want to be, where I felt supported, where I felt listened to, where I felt heard, where I felt seen, where I wasn’t being judged. Where there was no complaining, no judgement, no criticism.

The more time I spent in these groups, the more opportunities came my way to spend even more time with like minded people. It felt good. I felt good.

My invitation to you is to reflect, ask yourself who am I spending most of my time with? How does that serve me? Does it make me feel good? Do I feel supported?

There are so many groups and like- minded people you can hang out with.

It’s your choice.

Choose wisely.
